The Kirby Center is housed in a 16,000-square-foot building on Capitol Hill, just a few minutes’ walk from the Supreme Court, the Senate office buildings, and Union Station. Comprised of three row houses constructed in 1892, the building underwent a complete interior renovation in preparation for the fall 2010 opening. The façade is an example of Queen Anne Victorian architecture.

With a work room, computer lab, seminar space, and lounge, the first floor is devoted exclusively to student use. It is regularly populated by Hillsdale students interning in the city. The second floor features two parlors and the Van Andel Lecture Hall. Offices are located on the third and fourth floors. A library and outdoor terrace are also located on the fourth floor.

The building is open for visitors Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

The Kirby Center is located on Massachusetts Avenue between 2nd and 3rd Streets, NE.

Monday-Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Tours of the building are available by appointment during regular operating hours. To request a tour, please call (202) 600-7300.
